Meet Lee Newman, he advertises to Brighton and Hove residents offering Building, Gardening and Decking services. He is a con man and will steal your money.

The featured image may look unfamiliar (he’s suited and booted) – when I briefly met him, he was unshaven, had two earings and a large tattoo covering his next (see below image).
As you can see my the comment left – he’s targeted a number of people in the Brighton and Hove area.
Lee Newman is a conman
Lee’s modus operandi is to advertise on social media, book an appointment with you for a quote (claiming he’s busy on-site or doing quotes and he’ll fit you in, in a few days).
He uses several 3rd parties (potentially a partner in crime or Girlfriend) to recommend his services and then he requests a deposit 25% upfront, 25% at start of the work, full balance on completion.
He will take your deposit and run. He was active on Nextdoor.co.uk from March 2021 – April 2021.
My wife encountered him on nextdoor.co.uk (after handing over a substantial deposit for some Garden work and then getting ghosted) I started investigating Lee’s activities and the trail of destruction he is inflicting on Brighton and Hove residents is horrific.

Lee Newman preys on 70-80-year-old pensioners, several of whom I’ve spoken too, have broken down crying and sobbing.
He operates several sham businesses, in addition to Sussex Building, Gardening and Decking, including a courier service.
After a scam has run, he drops his phone numbers and doesn’t answer calls. Lee Newman is the embodiment of scum.
None of the companies are registered on the company house. HMRC tipped off.
In addition to ripping people off, Lee Newman (if that is his real name) one nextdoor user mentioned he actually did some work for her, cut every corner imaginable and then fly-tipped the bulky waste in the Sussex countryside.
