Brighton’s Vegan Pizzeria Set to Open in Hove

The award-winning Purezza Pizzeria is poised to expand to Brighton & Hove as the first all-vegan restaurant in the area.

The Western Road restaurant would become the 3rd branch of Purezza that began its first-ever plant-based pizza place in St. James’s Street, in Brighton, 5 years earlier.

The new Hove branch opens in August at Patisserie Valerie’s former location, near Palmeira Square, and will spread over 2 floors with enough available seating and operational delivery services for Hove and Portslade residents.

Any classy foodie will retain sustainability at its core, as the venue will feature recycled furniture, eco-friendly decorative items, and sustainably grown, organic plants.

The Company

In 2015, Purezza opened for business in Brighton as the very first vegetarian pizzeria in the UK before actually expanding to London.

Purezza has enjoyed massive success and has since opened the UK’s biggest vegetarian restaurant in Camden, London early this year including the several awards received for its plant-based pizza varieties.

Last year, Purezza was just the first vegan company to enter and to win a competition at the coveted Campionato Mondiale Della Pizza or the World Pizza Championship in Italy.

As if that weren’t enough, Purezza also maintains a factory of vegan cheeses in which they produce their organic dairy-free and palm oil free mozzarella utilizing fresh ingredients. They have also written and published a new recipe cookbook locally and abroad.

“2020 has always been planned to be a great year for Purezza, and although the Coronavirus issue was an unanticipated challenge, it does not impact our intentions,” Tim Barclay, co-owner and co-founder of Purezza stated.

“Purezza is a growing brand, but Brighton and Hove has always been our home. We are happy to have offered some of our loyal customers a new place in Hove to enjoy.”

Purezza’s Menu

The restaurant provides a variety of special cocktails, sumptuous starter dishes, and a packed gluten-free menu, as well as a yummy assortment of plant-based pizzas, that are also available in several bases with gluten-free selections.

Those seeking to eat some delicious, healthily twist vegan food can benefit from the renowned raw vegetarian menu in Purezza, which also includes raw tiramisu and a complete raw pizza with a base made of special nuts and seeds.

“Our goal is simple: to make our plant-based food menu outstanding to traditional options,” as specified by the Purezza management.
